Who I Work With...
Providing emotional support when life becomes a challenge.
As a fully qualified person centred counsellor since 2008, I specialize in working with individuals, families and couples with an integrative approach to therapy according to my clients needs.
Following on from my early training I completed further study in CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, Systemic Family Therapy and Relationship Therapy. I am an accredited member of the BACP and an accredited Professional Registrant member of the NCPS.
I hold an Enhanced DBS certificate and I am also registered with the Independent Commissioners Office for Data protection.
My goal is to create a safe and empathetic environment where we can explore your concerns together and work towards positive change.
Individual Counselling
Individual counselling focuses on one-on-one sessions between you and a counsellor. This format allows for personalized attention and a deep exploration of your thoughts and feelings.
I offer 1-1 sessions for adults who may be struggling with issues such as anxiety, depression, low self esteem, grief , loss ,and any other areas where life feels out of balance.
Family Counselling
Family counselling addresses issues within family dynamics. It helps family members communicate better and resolve conflicts. This type of counselling can strengthen relationships and improve overall family functioning.
Couples Counselling
Couples counselling focuses on improving communication and resolving conflicts between partners.
It can help couples navigate challenges and strengthen their relationship, or conversely, help couples that wish to separate, navigate this painful process with the support of a trained professional.
The Benefits of Counselling
Counselling offers numerous benefits that can lead to a more fulfilling life. Here are some key advantages:
- Improved Self-Awareness: Counselling helps you gain insight into your thoughts and feelings. This self-awareness can lead to better decision-making and healthier relationships.
- Coping Strategies: Counsellors teach you effective coping strategies to manage stress and anxiety. These tools can help you navigate life's challenges with greater ease.
- Emotional Support: Having a supportive person to talk to can be incredibly comforting. Counsellors provide a listening ear and can help you process your emotions.
- Goal Setting: Counselling can help you set and achieve personal goals. Whether you want to improve your career, relationships, or self-esteem, a counsellor can guide you on your journey.
- Conflict Resolution: If you are facing conflicts in your personal or professional life, counselling can provide strategies to resolve these issues constructively.
Despite the many benefits of counselling, some people still feel hesitant to seek help. Stigma surrounding mental health can make it difficult to reach out for support.
It is essential to remember that seeking counselling is a sign of strength, not weakness. Just as you would see a doctor for a physical ailment, it is perfectly acceptable to seek help for your mental health.
